Lemon Flavored Gin (Sicilian Lemons for the Win)
We love Lemon Meringue Pie and were thrilled with this recipe we developed. We highly suggest using a lemon flavored gin in this cocktail recipe. Gordon’s Sicilian Lemon Gin did far better than plain gin during our testing.
To get the creamy foam top, you’ll shake all of the ingredients twice: once without ice, then with ice. We used this dry shake method to achieve the creamy top but you can also use a electric mini frother if you prefer.
Aslo, feel free to use pasteurized egg whites or aquafaba if you’re concerned about using raw egg whites.
- 2 oz Lemon Gin
- 2 tsp Lemon Curd
- 3/4 oz Lemon Juice
- 1 Egg White
- Lemon Zest Strip
In an empty shaker, add all ingredients and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Then, add ice to the shaker and shake again for another 30 seconds. The longer you shake, the more foam you should end up with.
Strain into coupe glass. Drag lemon zest around rim and drop in to cocktail.
Note: We used a Hawthorne Strainer but you could use a fine strainer. You would keep out the tiny shards of ice but may lose some of the foam.
Drink immediately – this mixed drink won’t last in the fridge.
